1st Grade

Hello! I received my Bachelor's Degree from Huntington University, where I also played for the soccer program at HU. This is my 22nd year of teaching and my 8th year as a 1st grade teacher at OJN. My husband and I both teach and coach here at Wabash City Schools. We are proud parents of both a son and a daughter that reside with us in Wabash County.

My name is Melva McLane and I have lived in Wabash for 22 years. I graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. I earned my Master's degree in Elementary Education with a major in science. I have been married for 38 years to my husband, Brian. We have 3 children, Kristina, William, and Michelle. We enjoy boating, playing tennis, spending time together, and being outdoors.

Hello! My name is Vanessa Daughtry. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Butler University. While at Butler, I was part of the Butler Women's Track team. I received my Masters Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have taught for Wabash City Schools for 25 years. I have taught 8th Grade, 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade, and have been teaching 1st Grade for the last 10 years. My husband and I reside in Wabash. We have 3 boys that have gone through or are currently attending Wabash City Schools.

Hello! I am Mrs. Brae and I am part of the 1st grade team here at OJN. This will be my 5th year teaching, and my 4th year in 1st Grade here at OJN. Originally, I am from Kentucky. I attended college at Murray State University. In college, I met my husband who is originally from the area. That is how my journey here started. I am so excited to begin another year in a great school with the best students!

Hello! I live outside Wabash with my husband and our two daughters. I graduated from IPFW with a Bachelors of Education. This is my 17th year with WCS. I spent several years teaching 4th Grade and am getting ready to start my 6th year of teaching 1st Grade.
